Creation Con Report October 27-28th, 2007

Creation Con Report October 27-28th, 2007                                                                     Rosie’s Creation Saturday Report - Morena Baccarin, Alan Tudyk, Nathan Fillion

Highlights

First of all Morena has cut her hair, again. She just finished filming a couple of Indy movies and they made her cut her hair. It is really short almost like a buzz cut a pixie cut. She looks great and she likes it so that is good. I must say she did a wonderful job answering questions. However the questions were not that great. She had to bring out her dog to make things a bit more interesting. The line was not very long so I actually got up and read the article about the next Bond girl. Morena says it sounds good sign her up. She has actually auditioned for this so whatever we can do to help would be great "Start a petition." she said.  So I think lots of Browncoat mojo and shiny thoughts that she gets that part would be appreciated.

Zoic was supposed to make a presentation but they were not there. Yan Feldman had a presentation but I went to eat with Saxon and Ewok. There was an auction but I missed that as well. The next panel was Alan's! He made it back. He filmed a pilot in NY so I thought we were out of luck. But he appeared. I kept hoping for Nathan to show up since I had to work on Sunday. So it is a shtick that Nathan calls Alan during a panel and Alan calls Nathan when Nathan is doing a panel. So Alan was checking his phone. Alan started by clearing up the rumors about Serenity. He holds firm that Nathan told him that folks were talking about the sequel. Alan went online and he just kept reading about how Alan says there is a sequel. He says that Joss called him and asked him, "How are you financing the movie." Then the phone rings and its Nathan. He is trying to clear up this rumor since he has heard that Alan is blaming him. Alan says, "You did, you told me." Then Nathan says, "Say that to my face!" It was so awesome. Nathan came!!! I was jumping up and down excited. Nathan explained that he was just telling Alan what Joss said about the sales. Alan said, "Really? That's it."

The panel was awesome because Alan kept autographing trading cards and giving them to each person who asked a question. However he would turn to Nathan for him to answer the questions. It was great. Nathan's answers are always very intricate and hilarious. Then Morena's dog Rudy came on stage and Morena right behind. Morena wanted to get in on the fun. She gave Nathan a great big hug and then Alan. Nathan said the last time he saw Morena was on her birthday. It was really a beautiful reunion. It was a great fun panel and Morena saw Alan giving things away and she said, "So that's how you do it, you bribe them."

I was very happy to get a chance to see Nathan and Alan play off each other and then to have Morena join in the fun. Unfortunately I will be missing out on Sunday’s fun but I had enough fun for the whole weekend.

Saturday Detailed Report

OK I was not sure what to expect of the afternoon. I was sure Alan wouldn’t be there since he was in NY for the pilot he is shooting. I was hoping Nathan would come Saturday to fill in since I just can’t go on Sunday. So I arrived to see a long line of Browncoats waiting to enter. I called Saxon to see where she was and she was still about an hour away due to a flat tire she had on the way. Luckily they were at Pep-Boys (aka auto-part store). So I went to buy my day pass for $20 it is the best deal in the ‘verse. I already had their autographs and the back is not that bad a place to sit in such a small area. Alan was still listed as a guest so I was wondering if it was true of if they just didn’t know.

I wandered straight over to Jason Palmer’s booth. For those not familiar with his work check out: http://www.jasonpalmer.net he does incredible work and he has been doing Firefly since December of ’03 for the very first appearance of the cast at the LA Comic Con in honor of the release of the DVDs. I spoke to his wife Yelena who is in charge of the paperwork. He was actually doing a panel on his art so I made my way there. Jason had a slideshow running on the big screen behind him as he spoke. He has been working on a series of each character plus Serenity and the Operative since last year. Unfortunately he only has 6 done. Jason wants to capture the character not just the likeness. He wants Jayne on the canvas not just Adam. He has a wonderful Book done and told the story of how Ron stopped by to see his work and saw the original and was impressed. Jason gave him a print and Ron walked away to a panel or something. At the end of the con he returned and asked Jason what he was going to do with the original Artwork. Jason said, “It’s for sale.” Ron said, “Let’s talk.” So Ron bought it and invited Jason to his home to make sure it was displayed properly. Ron does not have anything in his home representing his TV work, but he told Jason that he truly captured what he was trying to portray with Book in that moment. So that was great for Jason. However the delay has also come because he was working on a painting involving Padme. It was 38 different images. George Lucas wanted to buy the original work. Jason said its 38 pieces George said yes he wants everything. So Uncle George helped them get a new home. Yelena is the one who takes care of the shipping and the orders. They are a great team and now they each have a work space at their home.

Morena’s panel followed Jason’s. I think we were all in shock with her pixie cut. She looks beautiful of course just very different. She looked happy and animated and ready for whatever was to come. She has been working on a couple of Independent movies that is why her hair is cut so short. I must say the questions were not up to par. Some were tech questions about episodes. One was directed to her dog. Another was about how she got the job on Firefly. It was quick one day got the call, next day auditioned, third day got the job. She spent one month at fight camp but her fight scene was half her and half stunt person. I did read to her the article about the next Bond movie. She just auditioned for it and hasn’t heard back but I can’t imagine someone better. So let’s all think shiny thoughts and cross all out fingers. Morena as the new Bond girl that could really be the opportunity she needs to have a breakout role. She would love to have that part. I am trying to remember what else she said. I know she told a story about a guest star that made a bad comment and Nathan defended her honor and told him he walked into a family here and he needs to apologize; no specifics but Nathan standing up for her was a great story. She talked about Adam and Alan fighting all the time about politics, she didn’t like that because they would get heated and would not stop. She had dinner with Claudia Black when filming up in Vancouver; they had a great beef stew and some pastry dessert. I can’t really remember more. She was wonderful and it was entertaining when she brought her dog Rudy out and he did simple tricks.

After Morena’s panel was supposed to be Zoic Studios which I was looking forward to but they did not show up for some reason. After that was Yan Feldman and I am sorry I missed it, I was hungry so I went to eat with Saxon and Ewok. We were looking forward to Alan’s panel. We arrived a few minutes early so that we were able to look at the California Browncoat’s booth and took pictures with James and Lynn. Next to them was the QMX table and Geoffrey Mandel was there to sign the Blue Prints Reference Pack which was a must have for me. Then I heard, “Give a welcome to Alan Tudyk.” OK so I grab Saxon, literally by the arm and don’t even take a moment to say anything since my brain is just thinking we’re missing it. She knows me well enough to follow. Alan looked great. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a black leather jacket. He started by talking to us about his trip to Melbourne and how he just returned and looked online to see what we were saying and all he read was: Alan says there is a sequel, over and over again. It was the news on the internet and he is not sure how things got confused. He knows Nathan told him. He’s just not sure what part is not true. He looked really confused and embarrassed about the whole thing. Alan checked his phone and started taking questions. He was so cute. I saw he started writing as the question was being asked and I did not know what he was doing. Well after answering the question he gave the girl an autographed packet of Serenity trading cards. Honestly I cannot remember all that was said during this panel. I was laughing too hard. Alan was doing great and then he got the call from Nathan. Nathan wanted to make sure Alan wasn’t spreading any rumors and blaming Nathan. Alan said, “You did tell me.” Nathan said I did not and he said, “Say that to my face.” The really funny part was hearing Nathan behind the curtain because there was a time delay with the phone. I just lost it. My brain was missing already since I didn’t really think Alan would be there and then Nathan calls. They usually call each other when one is doing a panel so that was expected by me however Nathan actually walking on stage after saying “Say that to my face.” was priceless. Nathan asks Alan to explain when he said this. Alan said about 2 weeks ago, we were at your place and you said people were talking. Nathan says, “Close, it was a month and a half ago and I was talking about what Joss was saying about a sequel if the DVDs sell enough." Alan says, "That's it? Really?" They laugh.  Alan made Nathan answer for him most of the questions. Nathan gives great detailed intricate animated stories. Alan gives funny one-liners with his beautiful expressive face. They truly play off each other well. It turns out that Nathan and Alan met years before working on Firefly. When Alan worked as a waiter at a place Nathan would often go to when he was on the set of One Life to Live. Nathan would walk in with a girl that Alan had a crush on. Morena’s dog Rudy came on stage at some point and she followed. Nathan didn’t know what the dog was doing on stage then he saw Morena. She was so excited she had to come join in the fun on stage. She gave both of them a big hug. You really could feel the joy and the love among them. Morena picked up on the fact Alan was giving stuff away and commented, “So that’s how you do it, you bribe them.” Nathan said, “Of course.” It was really nice to see them on stage together. I have to really think about what happened since it was just so much laughing going on throughout. Seeing the 3 of them on stage was lots of fun.

Afterwards was the autograph session. I just bought the day pass, Saxon and Ewok had the autographs. They made them sign behind the curtain so I couldn't get an interaction on the side as a tag along. Saxon didn't really have anything to sign so she and Ewok took some photos I had to sign for me. I had one with Morena taken 3 years ago in Anaheim. She wanted to know where that was and Saxon yells from the other side of the curtain. I answer back and Morena pulls the curtain and starts talking to me. She is just a sweetheart and I am so glad she came and I told her I'd see her next week at Starfury. Then Saxon and Ewok went to get in line for Alan but his line was long so there was not much time to chat. I did not get an opportunity to say hi to him but he did wave at me during the panel. It was very nice. It’s been a long time since I last saw him. I didn't get to thank Nathan at all for coming. He totally made my dream come true by showing up Saturday. I hung out with Saxon and family a little more but then had to leave since I had to be at work the next day. A nice end to my day was seeing the Ambulance from Ariel parked next to the hotel. It was the most natural thing in the 'verse to see it there. I recognized it from a ways off. I walked toward it and some folks were there. I told them I had to touch it since it was there. It was a very nice end to a really great day. I did have enough fun for 2 days and I am going to Starfury so I had to just grin and bear it that I couldn't be there Sunday as well.

Overall it was a mighty fine con.

Saxon's Creation Report for Sunday                                                                                                    Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Nathan Fillion and surprise Alan Tudyk

Okay, I'm going to try to remember everything that happened today (yeah right), well, like I said, TRY.  We got there when the QMx guys were doing their panel. They had a slide show of the products they are working on, things just released and then did a really quick little montage of 'to come' stuff (it blinked by so fast all I recognized was the 'little damn heroes' figurines that they had at their table). They had some really neat stuff, like the ship's papers, the different Firefly class starships (Serenity being a class 3, they have stuff on the 1, 2 and 4), it was neat to see how they make their stuff, sometimes from just a line or two from the show or movie, and then from early concept art and then with some good imagination and artwork come up with something they called "Serenified". I thought it was funny how they explain in the details of the early class Fireflies' trouble with Capissen 38 engines! SF Browncoat Hero Adam Levermore was on this panel for his work with them, and that is so exciting that 'one of us' is making good on 'doing good works'. I love his art work. Being a fan it's easy for him to put in little 'Easter Eggs' that mean something to us; very cool.

Like I started to say earlier, Sean was much more at ease with the crowd than he was when I saw him last (a couple of years ago). He is funny and cute and seemed to be having a good time. He said he was very blessed to able to come to something like this, where he can touch bases with people he truly enjoyed working with and to be welcomed so warmly by the fans. I really wish I could remember everything he said, because there were some good questions and he had some quick and fun answers. One guy came up and said, 'I got stabbed on the way over, can you take care of that?', and without missing a beat he said, "Sure, there's an ambulance outside!" (As Rosie said, the Ariel Ambulance was parked out front). Another thing he said in answer to a question about how he prepared for the role of someone so different (socio-economic) from the others on the ship, and he said that Joss didn't really give him a big back story, that just the lines with the story and with the more  articulate speech set him apart, but that Joss did say once that Sean AND Simon would just be looking around and thinking, "Who are these people and how the F*** did I end up with them!?".

Sean told how, when his agent had sat down with him about upcoming projects he told him it was 'Sci-fi' and he wasn't sure he wanted to do that. He didn't even get a script from Firefly, but just the one big speech that Simon gives in the kitchen describing how things were with him and River, and he thought that there really wasn't anything 'sci-fi' about it, and he just fell in love with the story, with the words, the writing, all of it. He said he really wanted it, and later got a script and then it was all he could think of...he said he didn't even try or care about the other projects that he auditioned for, he just wanted the part of Simon so bad. When asked what his favorite episodes/scenes were, he noted the 'burning at the stake' from Safe, that was just about perfect in summing up his relationship and sacrifice as a character. He liked Jaynestown, since it let him get rid of the 'stick up my a$$ for awhile'.

Oh, when he first started out, they had a mic on either side of the stage and were taking turns with questions from one side to the other. He said that most everyone knew about his neck, so he'd just be Joan Cusack for the day. I guess he must have explained at the breakfast what was wrong, but he did have a stiff neck and couldn't turn his head easily so the fans started lining up on one side only since as he said, 'oh, you want me to ping pong'. I know he said some stuff I told Ewok "we need to remember that to tell!", but I can't recall! I was impressed with him; he seemed to really enjoy himself and was fun to listen to.

The California Browncoats did a panel; it was Lynn, James and Adam. Lynn told how they started working together, raising money for the different charities and putting up the booths at the different cons over the years. It was stuff I already knew and have seen, taken part in or at least sent in a couple of dollars for when I could. It was just great to hear it all wrapped up from all this time. They talked about how they are going to be starting the auctions with shirts that Adam Baldwin has donated (shirts he wore in the show or movie), so keep an eye on EBay or check the yahoo pages of the SoCal, SF or California Browncoats. They talked about last year, and how they really got a chance to show the world what Browncoats can do when the pressure is on. They did perform miracles last year, and they thanked everyone for helping with B3 and let some folks know just how insane that whole thing was. They answered a couple of questions. I keep forgetting how  many people are new  to the 'verse or aren't as involved with the community, so many times during the weekend I was able to talk to folks and fill in the blanks of what is common knowledge to most of us.

Then, since they were the 'experts', they had a trivia contest, and Creation was giving away some really nice swag. The way it went was, someone was supposed to ask them a question, and if they couldn't answer, then the fan got to have TWO items from the table (there were different t-shirts, coffee cups, shot glasses and some other things). If they answered correctly, they got to ask a question. I told Ewok she needed to go up there and ask a question, but she said she couldn't think of a good one. Then I remembered the waiter we had yesterday who said his uncle was in 'The Message' and played 'Skunk', the guy who is told to set the postmaster on fire. So, I went up to ask the question, and they didn't know it!! As soon as I told them the answer a gal in the audience shouted out, 'we had a waiter in the restaurant whose uncle...' and Ewok and I were cracking up! We told her, that's what made us think of it! Cuz as soon as he told us Ewok said, 'that would make a good trivia question!’ I told her we should go give him a tip! I told Ewok to go over and pick out the t-shirts (there were three designs). Then, the lines got really short so Ewok decided she'd go up and ask if they knew 'What was Badger's hometown?" when they didn't know she got to pick two more items (she got the other shirt and a baseball cap). She ended up walking away with about $100 worth of stuff!

We had to be back later for Summer's panel, so we went to get something to eat and put the stuff in the car, when we got back they were having an auction. They auctioned off all the really cool poster/banners that were all over the convention hall and entry area, I would love to have smaller versions of those prints. People got stuff soooooooooooo cheap!! Ewok wanted to put her contacts in, so she went off to the bathroom while I watched the last of the auction before Summer came out. She was taking a while and I knew that I'd better hit the facilities before things started too, so I gathered all our stuff up and went. The nice thing about the preferred seating is that you can leave your seat and not have to worry about getting it back, plus, no one was in the seats on either side of us, which made it easy for us to scoot over or have someone come and sit and chat with us. The bad thing was, for some of the panels there were seats in the first few rows that were empty.

Anyway, I went into the bathroom, and Ewok was putting on her contacts, I asked her what's taking so long, and she laughs and says, 'Summer was just in here!' Since she is just getting used to her new contacts, it takes a while to get them in, and as she was trying to get one in, she noticed that the bathroom was really quiet, but there was one gal standing by the door just waiting, she recognized her as the gal who was helping with the line yesterday (they'd joked around about Futurama, and laughed when Morena pulled the curtain back to chat with Rosie). Ewok thought, 'why is she waiting there? Does she think there's a line?' then, she glanced over to the gal beside her washing her hands and they both did a double take...it was Summer and she recognized her! They both exclaimed and did a "hey, it's you" type thing, and when they went to hug, the poor little 'handler' gal was a bit flustered, not sure if she was supposed to allow that, but realized that  Summer had initiated  it. Ewok said as soon as Summer left, a whole bunch of women came in, apparently the gal had closed off the bathroom for Summer, and just didn't bother having Ewok leave while she was messing with her contacts. Later, when we walked out the gal saw us, and Ewok told her "sorry if I scared you!" and she laughed and said, "I knew she knew you, cuz she kept looking at you like she was trying to remember or recall who you were!" I have to say, everyone who was working this event was extremely nice. We never saw any of the bullying guards that we've seen at Comic Con and such. I saw Erin Gray both days, so she is still involved in the Heroes for Hire thing I guess. I wanted to talk to her, but when she wasn't busy, there wasn't a chance and vice versa.

We got back out to our seats and waited for Summer. She came out and seemed very unsure and a little scared. I'm not real fond of them having them up there one at a time, they were such a unit on the show, and they honestly do so much better as a group. Summer was also very uncomfortable or at least unused to using the mic, so sometimes it was hard to hear her. The fans knew the drill though and had lined up with questions. Once she started answering she seemed to relax and have fun. She is so very pretty. She talked about working on Sarah Connor Chronicles (her mom MADE her go audition for it), The Unit (she asked the person who mentioned it, "you aren't one of the people who sent me hate mail are you? I'm just awful in that), The 4400 (she was originally cast as the 'young mother' and then had to turn it down to do Serenity and when they offered her Tess, she was afraid of being typecast, but took it and made her different than River, she also said she's unsure if Tess will be back), and how she got into acting (she didn't have a back-up plan and got hurt and couldn't dance ballet, so got into acting). Summer told about going to fight camp to get ready for the movie. She said it was hard, and she had pulled muscles and how the guy (who was awesome at what he does) made her cry almost every day. She said she’d take long bathroom breaks and wish there was some way to escape. She said one of the most humiliating things was when they went out to a park and a whole class of 12 year old "ninja assassins" would be set upon her to beat her up! She said the same thing that most every one of them said there is NO adlibbing in Joss's shows, so every move in the fights or the dance she did was practiced and perfect. The hardest part about the final Reaver battle was that she had rehearsed it with all these guys she knew, and suddenly they were all in full Reaver make up and she couldn't recognize them to know who to hit first!

She was answering questions when suddenly there was a voice on the mic, that said, "I have a question", she looked over and there was a gal at the mic, and the voice said, "I'm not over there", so she glanced at the opposite mic and the voice said, "I’m not over there either"...or there..., ":no, not there..." Of course, everyone already knew it was Nathan as soon as he spoke, but he played with Summer, until she finally looked behind her and he was making shadow puppets on the big banner backdrop behind her. He came out and it was awesome to see them together. She had said, in answer to "how does it feel, 5 years later to still have this stuff going on", and she'd said that she was very sentimental and emotional about the whole experience, because she doesn't like to watch herself so even though she hasn't really watched the show since she DID it, seeing everyone means so much to her. You can see it on them; hear it in the way they joke. Nathan truly IS the Captain! He really just runs the whole show! In fact, once he got settled down and started helping her with her Q & A, she said when she first met him at her first 'read', she thought he 'worked there', since he was asking everyone if they needed any water, or was doing stuff for them. She said, 'I thought you were running things' and he laughed and agreed that he does! She asked him if he remembered what he said to her after he came out of his audition and he was grinning, then he told the story, and had said to her, “Don't worry; I doubt we are reading for the same part.” LOL. When Nathan is there, it is very fast and funny and you are laughing and you miss stuff it just gets crazy!

Then a gal got in the line and told Summer her time was up, but she was welcome to stay and help Nathan out if she wanted to. She had been sitting in the tall 'Director's Chair' and Nathan was on a shorter regular chair (which added to the humor when he'd look up at her and get her giggling over silly stuff), so she said, 'sure, I'll stay' when Nathan encouraged her to 'help him'. So, she got up and sat in the short chair and Nathan took the tall chair, the backdrop with the projected image of Summer changed to Nathan and the audience started applauding as if he'd just come out. Then Nathan asked one of the staff to bring him a bag he'd left in the green room and I laughed and told Ewok, "he learned from Alan, he brought 'treats'", and Summer asked him off mic "what did you bring?", and he said, "treats, wait and see"...we were cracking up!!

Suddenly the lines were really long on both sides!! I can see how come he and Alan get along so well, they have this funny, competitive thing going on, Alan brought packs of trading cards that he autographed...Nathan brought BIGGER, more varied stuff! LOL!! Everything from notes from the set of Lost, to publicity stills from White Noise 2, to Halo 3 calendars.  OH!!I forgot!! He'd only given out a couple of things when a guy walked up to the mic to ask a question. He had on a western style duster coat and a rather ratty almost Indiana Jones type hat pulled kind of low...he didn't speak into the mic very well (which most people had problems with, since the helpers didn't adjust for height), so when he spoke, Nathan asked him to speak up a bit, because he didn't hear him. So, he started again saying, "Isn't it true that you've said that you patterned Mal after Harrison Ford playing Han Solo..." and by then the whole audience knew who it was (I knew the minute he walked up to the mic and you couldn't see his face, and sounded like Gerheart from 28 Days!!). ALAN was there!! I miss so much trying to snap pix, working with Gingi's camera, so I don't remember the hugs and greetings. But it was wonderful! Once they settled down, and Nathan got another chair for Alan, Alan repeated the question, "Since you patterned Mal after Han Solo, wasn't it the fact that Han FLEW the Millennium Falcon that made him so cool?!"!! Nathan, in his wonderful way explained that as a good Captain he DELEGATES!! *he taps Alan* "You, take care of flying!", *taps Summer* "You, take care of CRAZY!" *he sits sorta Capt. Kirk like in the chair*, "and I'll take care of COOL". *strikes a pose* It was hi-larious! Then Nathan reaches into his bag and said, "Oh, and for asking that question, I have this Halo 3 calendar..." Alan looks all excited, Nathan continues in a sing-songy voice, "and don't forget when my birthday rolls around....”. Then after the next question Nathan gives the calendar away, Alan looks all hurt and dejected!

As Rosie can attest, when Nathan is there, it is very fast paced and hysterical...you just can't keep up. Then, when Alan is there they play off each other! Summer does just sit there enjoying watching and listening and doesn't join in much, so that part was a big blur of laughing. Then Sean walked out! One more chair and more hilarity. One question was "what is the strangest thing a fan has asked or said to you at a function like this?" Nathan, who always emcees, directs it to Sean who's on the end, he tries to think, then Alan says, "One time a woman asked me "will you take your shirt off?", and I said, "No...". Just the way he said it was so funny! Then Sean said that when they were in Scotland for the premiere of the movie a guy was VERY upset with him that he'd cut his hair and let him know it!! That busted Alan up! He just started laughing with this curious look on his face and turned to Sean and started berating him in a very thick Irish Brogue about cutting his hair...and everyone, Summer included, started cracking up...then Nathan jumped in doing the same! "What were ya thinkin' lad?" It was hi-larious!!

Summer said that one time someone said, "You used to be my least favorite character, now you're my favorite", and she responded, "Thank you?" Nathan laughed and said, "I love when thank you becomes a question". Then Nathan went into this story about how someone said, "You know when you do those naked scenes? You know those naked scenes? Yeah, you should do more", and he replied, "Why thank you sir". Then everyone died laughing, cuz he repeated it, changing his voice to sound like a perverted guy, and Summer was about to cry from laughter and she asked him "Did that really happen?", and he was acting all serious, "yeah". You can tell he totally messes with her all the time! In fact, that was one of the things he was talking about, to keep her humble and not turn into a cynical, jaded actress (which she had him do the impersonation of her "in the future" that he used to do, (where she is smoking and barking out orders to crew on set), he would tell her, especially after a hard, emotional scene, "I want you to know how you really moved me there, how much it touched me, deep down", he  went into a really sincere thing about the scene, and then, at the end, just to keep her grounded he'd end it, "that is., if you like bulls**t." She said she fell for it a bunch of times!! She had the sweetest little face like she was hearing him praise her work, feeling all good about how well she did, then WHAM! He was just laughing to himself...LOL...then added, "I did that to Jewel too...I was generous...I spread that around, I got Sean, Morena...*pause while people laugh*...RON!"

Oh, when Nathan asked us how many of us were his friends on MySpace, and a bunch of us raised our hands, he said, 'Now we know who the cool people are!!; Summer said, "I'm not your friend on MySpace", and he said, "Yes you are!", she said, "I don't have MySpace", he looked all shocked and said, "That's not you??". LOL. Nathan talked about the 'super-secret thingy' and how he is the 'face of a hero', and Sean said, 'is that for real?', and Alan said, "I turned that down'. Nathan told about how the space station has the DVDs in space, Summer hadn't heard about that, then later when Sean came out he mentioned it, just learning about it today. (It is very clear that Nathan keeps up with the fans and the fandom the most of all the cast). Edited to add: Nathan also talked (very animatedly) about his old cat "Dirty Cat", and Summer said her dog bites. Summer was also asked about if she was worrying that she was doing a show for Fox, and Nathan teased her with how the show had everything, action, good story, pretty people...and it's on FOX...what could go wrong?

Also, when we left, we were standing at the back of my car, while I took my contacts out for the drive home. Jessi looked around and said, 'We should have come out here to see if we could find a cool Mustang, we'd know it belonged to Alan". We laughed. One of the 'handlers' who looked like John Cleese walked back behind us as a little car pulled into traffic as he directed it (had other cars stop). Jessi said, 'Hey who did John Cleese just walk behind us with? I looked over to note that the car one over from us was gone. She said, 'He just walked one of them out.' The car was just pulling into the line of cars waiting to leave the parking lot...and I said, 'It had to be Summer, they said she had to leave early'. Just then it turned where we could see the driver. Sure enough, it was Summer, she'd walked within a couple of feet of us and gotten into her car while we were talking. Just as she got parallel with us, she looked over and waved!! She had to have seen us as she walked past to get to her car. We just waved back. They said she had an early call to set for Sarah Connor tomorrow. I know there is more, and I'm going to try to add stuff as it pops into my head, but here is what I can come up with now. We got their autographs, talked to some of our long time Browncoat friends and then said our goodbyes. It was really awesome! I'm exhausted, but extremely happy. I love my BDHs!  Nathan and Alan both say so much with their bodies and faces. It is priceless. When Sean was telling how the guy in Scotland got really angry/upset over him cutting his hair, Alan was just staring at him, and his face started to get red and he had his mouth open a bit, like totally incredulous...with a 'what the?' look...then he just started laughing and shaking his head and going into a thick accent, saying what the guy might have said...then the audience, Summer and Nathan all lost it, and then Nathan went off doing the same. It was freakin’ hi-larious!!

I remembered something else! Someone asked Summer and Nathan to recite the last lines they had in the movie, and you could tell Summer couldn't remember them, Nathan was grinning from ear to ear, and 'fed' her the lines, he had to repeat them, he was whispering to her off mic her line and then his, then he nodded, smiling up at her (he was still sitting in that shorter chair, and said, 'you ready?'...

Summer nodded and said, “storms getting worse"

Nathan said, "We'll pass through it, soon enough".

The audience erupted and I nearly cried!! Then someone said, 'yeah, but what's YOUR last line?"...and Nathan, without a pause said (and reacted) with 'What was that?'

Is it no wonder why we love this man? When we got into the line to get his autograph, the gal who was wearing the real "Mal's shirt" from the movie was in front of us. She had a ton of stuff to sign, and let me look really closely and TOUCH the shirt, and then she turned when she'd gotten to the table and asked me to hold it! When she showed it to Nathan, for some crazy reason he pulled the shoulder up to his nose, and started smelling it! All while holding the Sharpie pen he was signing with, in his hand...he said, "It smells like...like...a felt marker...you know? A felt marker?" and Jessi goes, "A Sharpie?", and he goes, "yeah, like a Sharpie!" He's such a nut!!
